rasganço

Tradition from the University of Coimbra. Similarly to recibida, it's not an initiation, but still a tradition. When students graduate, other students tear their uniforms. Boys usually end up naked, and girls are usually stripped to their bras.

 Gongratulations, you're finaly torned!
The Portuguese city of Coimbra is knowned for the university and its' traditions. In Coimbra, after you finish your studies, you can go through a ritual called "Rasganço", in English something like “Torn”.. In this ritual your student clothes are torned in order to represent the official ending of your student life. Girls only can be tear by girls, and boys by boys, but everyone can watch it. They make this in the main street of the university and they throw the pieces of fabric to the trees an statues. Usually boys end up naked, running after the guy who was the only piece that is not torn. Girls can keep some of their cloths, and it depends on the girl if she wants to be more or less dressed in the end.

That's totally false. I attended a rasganço and I saw some girls totally naked, some of them enjoying the momento, others embarrassed. Female nudity is usual there.
