It's their own choice, but in my opinion it's also their loss. It's always completely naked for me, if given the choice. Flip flops only if on a naked bike ride, and they are discarded when I am at rest stops. The ladies that make the effort, and take precious time out of their day to see naked men should not go home disappointed.
I like to hug the girl in the first picture too./. She kind of has that nerd cute look./.
These look like young teens. That age group is often considered very self-conscious about their bodies as well as a host of other issues. Kudos to these guys for rising above that tendency. Hopefully, they hold onto that attitude as they age.

Great photo, probably just a group of close friends who decided to spent a sunny day at the river or lake and take a dip in the water to cool down - the guys did not care if the are bare and someone is taking a photo :)
