I am sorry to disagree with you, but I think just the opposite. I believe that women who are interested in looking at or being with naked men (while they remain clothed) prefer to see him with an erection. It is a sign to the women that he is enjoying his exposure to them, and the women have the satisfaction that in some way, they have caused him to become aroused.
On the other hand, if the man (while on display to one or more clothed women) remains in a flaccid condition for more than a short time, the women may interpret that in one of several ways: either he is less virile than they would like him to be, or the women spectators are not enough of a stimulus to him. Either way, that reflects negatively on the man.
In my experience, a certain amount of trust has been built up so that the women do not feel threatened or consider my hard dick as aggressiveness toward them. Some very good points well made by all. My experience of CFNM is limited to clothing optional beaches and naked bike rides. Both of which are of course outdoor events, so quite different to Old School Fan's experiences. They are both non-sexual events, which for me makes having an erection off the cards. They also potentially last for several hours. Certainly the bike rides which I have participated in have been. For the longer rides in London you can be naked for over six hours, which makes having an erection for the duration rather unlikely. Also the fact that you are engaging in physical activity pretty much precludes this. I think if you are naked in view of the public, it is important that the public wants to be there. In the case of naked bike rides, I think this is overwhelmingly the case.
