Yes the Oblation Run is an amazing event. I knew a Filipino girl who had been a student there before coming to the UK. She told me it was the highlight of the year. All the girl students knew it was coming and got really excited. The freshmen students knew it was coming as well. But they didn't face the prospect with as much excitement! I wonder why not?!! Because its the university tradition all - and all meant ALL - male students were expected to strip off and join in. In a way it was enforced male nudity. Apparently in the past its been suggested that girl students should strip off as well. When that was put to the vote the girl students it voted thumbs down! Who can blame them?!
