Actually, he likely WISHES he could swim and sunbathe naked like the lucky guy on the beach, but his prudish wife won't allow him the freedom.
Its the only way to be at the beach.

I heard that long time ago this was standard in american swimming pools. Guys had to be naked. Why was it abandoned?
In college in the mid '60s, I took a swim class. The guys were naked and the coeds wore swimsuits. It was no big deal, except for doing the back stroke with a hardon.
No idea. And this was before my time. I'd happily swim nude with clothed female swimmers.
