Painting nude males with clothed females

Victorian Era modesty ... for women only

Painting in the centuries often represented cfnm scenes.

In the prudish and puritan times of Queen Victoria, however, cfnm was the common standard in bathing at the sea. The painting of that era represent definitely that dress code.

The conservative Victorian era dress in these paintings reflects the extreme modesty women held of the day, while the boy is stripped of all modesty, and all his clothes.

Joaquin Sorolla (1863-1923) was a Spanish painter during the Victorian and Edwardian era. Here he immortalized a boy and girl.  She wears a long dress covering most of her, typical of Victorian modesty. Her male companion, however, is completely naked.

As can be seen, girls of the period dressed very conservatively such that even their knees were typically hidden from the eyes of the boys (typical of Victorian conservatism).  However, at the same time and place, the boys playing in the sand and waters with these girls were often stark naked from head to foot with their entire bodies on full display for the girls to see.
This painting feature the same young couple, holding hands in young romance as the naked young man escorts the beautifully dressed young lady to the water.

Thanks for posting these, Marie- girls have a few rights guys don't, and happiness comes with learning to accept the facts of life. Who knows, maybe someday I'll overcome my inhibitions.

Fascinating paintings. Both children seem on the verge of puberty which makes one wonder if the boy will remain naked some months later when the hormones kick in and make changes to his body.
I especially like the last painting where he escorts her hand in hand - a beautiful girl walking beside her protector who is a superb specimen of young manhood.

Sorolla is a very famous painter in my country. Even there is a museum in Madrid dedicated to him. When I saw that and other paintings of the same style I thought that in these very conservative days that we are living, his paintings could even be forbidden. Right now, anyone who paints naked children will be considered by some to be almost like a pedophile. On the other hand, it seems that the picture somewhat demonstrates the theory that CFNM was not so unusual in the old days.

Marie, may I remenber you that both the Victorian and the Edwardian eras took place in Great Britain, but... Spain IS NOT Great Britain. In Spain, we had other kind of eras, nothing to do with the British ones. Please, take some lessons of history for the next time. ;) And, come on, erase this comment. It´s soooo typical of you, hehehe... LOL :D If you don´t do it this time, I congratulate you: it´s never late to be a little more tolerant. :D

Coleopter, you should overcome all your inhibitions once and for all and take the risk of going totally naked at the clothing optional beaches, where many women and girls in their conservative bikinis may see your goods as much as they want and you can´t do other thing that resign yourself to it with dignity and manhood.

Well I might, but the beaches here in New England don't feature that many clothing-optional options. Also, um, ... well let's just say the cold Atlantic is kinda tough on the "prairie oysters"!😏
