To me, that thing he is wearing (I don't know what they call it) looks like it could be very uncomfortable, seriously, he is practically naked already so he really should just take that thing off.
I think that mankinis are very exciting, both for boys and girls. They should cover at least the genitals but very often almost everything is visible or even comes out in plain sight. Boys get embarrassed like this and if they are uncomfortable it is even more fun
